The Thello overnight train departs from Paris every evening, making a single stop in the French city of Dijon before traveling direct across the southern tip of Switzerland. Once in Italy, the train makes 3 quick stops (Milan, Verona and Padua) before arriving in Venice, where it makes 2 destination stops: one at Mestre and one at Santa Lucia station.

Since Venice is made up of over 100 small islands, there are no roads – only easy-flowing canals. At the center is the Grand Canal, the city’s main thoroughfare. During your stay, be sure to visit the Piazza San Marco square, Rialto Bridge and Doge’s Palace!
