The pass can be used on limited express trains of the Kyushu Railway Co., in ordinary reserved and non-reserved seating, and on ordinary trains of the Kyushu Railway Co. in the designated area for the pass. The Northern Kyushu Area Rail Pass can also be used for Kyushu Shinkansen “bullet” trains.
A Kyushu Rail Pass is only available to non-Japanese passport holders, under the entry status of “Temporary Visitor”.
3 Months. The e-ticket must be exchanged within 3 months from date of issue.
The Northern Kyushu Area Rail Pass: 3-day or 5-day consecutive pass
This pass does not guarantee the bearer a seat. For passes exchanged on or after April 1 2022, a total of 6 reservations will be permitted for free. If more reservations are required, it will be necessary to purchase an “Express Ticket” for each subsequent journey. Seat Reservations can be reserved at the station’s customer service window.
Please note that the area covered by the Northern Kyushu Area Pass is expanded to include the Kagoshima main line (between Kumamoto and Uto) and Misumi line (between Uto and Misumi).
