With the German Rail Pass Promotion, purchased between October 1st and December 7th, 2013, you’re entitled to free city cards, discounts and free admission to tours and museums in Southern Germany.

The pass lets you travel to cities throughout Germany’s high-speed network and enjoy prompt service, comfortable seats and entertainment (including newspapers, magazines and Wi-Fi on selected routes).

In addition to the discount on your promotional pass, the German Rail Pass Promotion entitles you to bonuses from highlights of Southern Germany which include:

  • Discounts on admission to 8 castles in Bavaria
    Show your German Rail Pass Promotion to pay a reduced entry fee in a selection of impressive castles in Bavaria. One of the featured castles include the popular Neuschwanstein, which was the inspiration for Disneyland’s Sleeping Beauty Castle and one of the most visited castles in the world. 
  • Free tours with the Night Watchman in Rothenburg
    Relive the early days of the 20th century when citizens (the night watchmen of Rothenburg) were responsible for the safety of the town by touring the city at night and warning sleeping peers of coming dangers.

The German Rail Pass Promotion is available for the 7 Day, 8 Day, 9 Day and 10 Day German Rail Passes, German Rail Twin Passes and German Rail Youth Passes in First and Standard Class. Your travel cannot extend past January 31st, 2014. With the exceptions of the StuttCard and the Zugspitze train, which require a voucher, bonuses are only available upon presentation of the German Rail Pass Promotion. Note that the German Rail Pass Promotion is non-refundable.
