The Rauma Railway (video available here) runs on the route Oslo S – Dombås – Bjorli – Åndalsnes-Trondheim, taking passengers through picturesque mountains, over spectacular bridges, through winding tunnels and past the tallest rock-face in Europe; the Trollveggen. The sightseeing focus of the Rauma Line is especially enjoyable from May 30th through August 30th, where at the most beautiful sites, trains run at reduced speeds, and allow for photo stops en route. However the Rauma Line operates throughout the year, with excellent connections to Trondheim and Olso. Also, on board the train you will have the option to listen to audio guides in Norwegian, English or German. The Rauma line offers standard class coaches and the travel time is about 90 minutes. For Eurail Pass holders, where the pass includes Norway, good news…your pass is valid on the Rauma line and no supplement is required!
