No trip to Germany would be complete without a stopover in the nation’s biggest and most famous seaport. Simply book your Deutsche Bahn (DB) ticket to ride from Berlin to Hamburg by train, and you’ll soon find yourself traveling at speeds of up to 300km/h aboard one of DB’s ultra-smooth, ultra-modern high-speed commuters toward the German city nicknamed the “Gateway to the World”. Ticket flexibility, frequent daily departures, the choice of Standard or First Class travel, plus a range of convenient in-car services are just some of the perks you get when you go with Deutsche Bahn!

A booming global commerce and trade centre for centuries now, Hamburg rates among Germany’s richest cities. Flowing throughout the city is a complex network of streams, rivers and canals covered by nearly 2,500 bridges (more than Amsterdam, London and Venice combined!) Waterways aside, Hamburg also has its share of sprawling green parks and fresh botanical gardens. Key sights you won’t want to miss include the enormous Speicherstadt warehouse district, Miniatur Wunderland model railroad exhibit, Hamburg Museum, and the lively and legendary Reeperbahn district.
